Numerous people have passed away in accidents at Disney throughout the years. Since Disney has not kept these deaths a secret, we can easily find the news of several deaths online. In 2006 alone, a seven-year-old cancer patient and a 73-year-old man with a heart condition both died soon after riding Space Mountain, even though they were immediately taken to the hospital when they fainted while leaving the ride.
One of the most tragic cases did happen quite a long time ago, in 1977. Back then, the moat surrounding Cinderella’s Castle was much more accessible to the public and a 4-year-old boy drowned in it. The kid’s family sued Disney and won $1.5 million, in spite of the fact that the judge did declare that half the responsibility fell on them for leaving the child unsupervised. There have also been many cast member accidents that resulted in death. Maybe this is not really the happiest place in the world to work in. Luke Skywalker is coming to Disney! As if Star Wars Weekends was not an exciting enough event already, actor Mark Hamill is the special guest for the weekend of June 6 to 8 this year. It is also rumored that many other big celebrities might be appearing as well now that Disney is filming Episode VII.
Star Wars Weekends IV begins on May 16 and there are many events planned for every weekend on until June 15, so you can check it out anytime. If you are as big a fan of Star Wars as I am, we might bump into each other more than once, but definitely in line to get an autograph from Mark Hamill on June 6. more information on how to book a disney world vacation for star wars weekends can be found here. Maybe I can finally get him to join the dark side :) there are more ghost stories that show just how haunted disney world is on this blog. I have yet to find a ghost myself, but I'll keep going back until i find one! Oh well :) Winnie the Pooh is one of the most beloved Disney characters and cartoons, yet one of the main characters is a manic depressive donkey who cannot get anything right. What is up with Eeyore? (the voice actor for Eyeore, btw is the same as Optimus Prime in the recent Transformers movie franchise.)
But seriously, what's going on with this poor stuffed donkey? He is never happy- I didn't even realize this until I was older! There have been hipster princess memes all over the internet recently, but Belle has the most amazing pictures of all. Yep, Geekster Belle is probably my favorite. Probably because she was actually a geek in the film.
Some of the princesses get made over into hipsters or covered in tattoos. Belle, however doesn't even need a makeover (though they all end up looking amazing- like this one) She was known for having her nose in a book, she was even made fun of for that by the airhead 'pretty' girls in the movie. There is an attraction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom where you can meet her- in a library/book shop. So, rather than being a hipster and focusing on modern culture, being social, showing off, etc... She is a real intellectual. Diamonds? A throne? No thanks. This princess wants one thing from the Beast and one thing only- The Royal library. Work it Belle. Thank you Buzzfeed for this list! In their article "The 23 Worst Crimes Commited By Disney Villains" they have gathered some of the Disney villains most shocking actions as if they were criminal records. Be sure to check out the article, but here are some of my favorite in the mean time
