Surprisingly enough, these awesome sweaters were actually found on a wholesale retail shop in CHINA. Shipping is free and the clothes on here are at ridiculous prices (these were somewhere around $5 and $10 USD). So if you're willing to wait from 25 to 40 days to get your clothes in the mail, then i say go for it. I'd like to say that I was doing research on Disney fashion for the benefit of Disney Dark Side fans but I would be lying. I am just obsessed with Chinese clothing stores. #yourewelcome. #pandasoneverything.

THESE ARE THE DROIDS YOU"RE LOOKING FOR. Once again, i was looking at Asian clothes online. Sue me. Or Don't. I don't really care.
I stumbled across some incredible swimsuits that, yet again, will take forever to ship ( 15-25 days for these) but each one costs less than $10. If you wanted to pay for faster shipping, that's also a good option seeing as how Star Wars Weekends starts in around 2 weeks and runs until June 15. You decide. Here's the link to where you can find them: AWESOME ASIAN STORE THAT I AM OBSESSED WITH. Some of these would even be acceptable to wear under shorts or a skirt for a cute non-creepy fangirl look for Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. then you could easily shape-shift for a break at the pool or Disney's waterparks or an impromptu photo shoot. Thanks to the awesome vintage photos section of imagineeringdisney.com I stumbled upon these photos scattered throughout several posts and I suddenly remembered where my fear of drowning came from. Or at least that's what I assume seeing as how i had to hold my breath when flipping through these- 20K Leagues Under the Sea will always come back to haunt me I guess. For those of you who don't know, the Magic Kingdom used to actually put people into these terrifying contraptions and stick them under water. Like all the way under water. There, from a dirty plexiglass window you could watch a shark fighting an octopus, a poor deep sea diver trying not to DIE and i'm pretty sure there were also creepy mermaids. Obviously most people had positive reactions to the 20K Leagues Under the Sea but seeing as how I was barely doing math yet when I first went on it i only have vague horror movie-esque flashbacks. Not surprisingly, they look just like these vintage photos. KILL IT WITH FIRE. Be bold on your next Disney World vacation with these great Disney fashion finds. Here is a fun, edgy look for those of us who like to be a little on the dark side for our vacations! Disney fashion has plenty of room for this lovable bag of bones! “What’s this? What’s this?!” WHERE IS ALL OF THIS AWESOME COMING FROM? The Disney Company has recently begun to acknowledge the influence the early animated films have had on today's "millennial's" (as a 23 year old i literally just cringed while writing that) and is embracing edgier merchandising including fashion and posters. It used to be things were for kids, like swirling around with dumbo and puking on the Test Track ride, or they were for adults. Like filling up on wine and fancy crêpes at Epcot Center and then throwing up on the Test Track Ride. Now there is a nice area in between where recent college grads who are embarking on their 1-2 year summer vacation can express their love for Disney in what is either a lifelong passion for animation or a crippling fear of growing up. Our generation loves Disney merchandise. the orlando vacation store has a bunch of cool modern disney fashions you can put together yourself, including this one of Jack. take a look at some of these serving suggestions: p.s. I mostly dress in only black and white, so I actually just realized I already own most of the fashions seen in this photo below. SCORE. When I first saw The Princess Bride, I loved it so much that I had to get the book and read it. Every now and then, I still watch the movie or read passages of the book again. That is how funny, crazy and awesome the movie is to me. Could you imagine, then, my excitement when I found out that Disney Theatrical Productions is taking it to Broadway?
The announcement was pretty vague, really, as it gave no potential dates or details about the adaptation. I will keep you all posted, though, whenever I find out any details. And be sure I will be the first in line for my tickets to the first show! Dreams really do come true! Disney has been on a Broadway binge lately, adding a musical adaptation of the animated film, Aladdin to the lineup later this month. Frozen has also been confirmed as a Broadway Show project- surprisingly fast... is the movie even out on DVD yet? or better still, Netflix? Disney is finding more and more ways to capitalize on the earth-shattering success of its film franchise and lucky for us, it's moving things in a more mature direction for those of us who no longer wet the bed. In case you weren't already excited enough- here's a picture of when the original cast recently reunited to celebrate the film's 25 anniversary. enjoy. I was watching Dumbo last night, and I found out that I had forgotten one of the creepiest scenes in a Disney movie ever. Even looking over the fact that the entire situation begins with a very young child getting drunk on champagne, Pink Elephants on Parade can be delightfully unsettling. The psychedelic images are accompanied by a rather dark melody and it only gets more confusing as it develops. What do you think? Here is the video, in case you don't remember the scene. It was a terrible day for me when after a long bout of a disease I like to call going to college, I came back home to see my favorite show at Disney World, and sitting on the sidewalk, popcorn ready, I was informed that they cancelled, or as they call it, "re-imagined" the Spectro Magic parade at Magic Kingdom. The original was so cool! The only thing that gives me hope that it will one day make a comeback or be re-incorporated into the new one is that a few of the cars and elements were saved (for a possible future use?) It will most definitely not be the same, but at least there are videos and audio tracks of it available out there. I think? Right? Please tell me there really are!
Ok, so to be fair the new version of the show isn't terrible. It's new, it's cleaner, it's fresh and it has a lot of more recognizable characters. But I seriously miss the amazing pieces of the show that were inspired by Fantasia and the great original soundtrack (which still plays in my head whenever I see a sea of glow sticks at a club. Don't judge me, I was raised in Orlando! That stuff in deeply ingrained in my mind. It's really IN THERE). My very favorite part of the show was when performers came out supposedly balancing on light up balloons and navigated around in circles, whipping their heads around and waving at all the kids. I'll miss this. Street artist Herr Nilsson created this awesome series that sheds a light on what could be the dark side of several Disney characters, were they in contact with the crude realities of the world. Featuring Princesses in some of their most recognized poses rather than completely changing their body language? (notice how if it wasn't for the obvious twists, you wouldn't know the difference between these portraits and the school notebooks and lunch boxes we all grew up with) His first set of portraits showed up in Stockholm, although now there are canvases for sale. Isn't the contrast between the colorful outfits, the smiling faces and the violence of the weaponry crazy? I find it fascinating! If you like these pictures, you can check out more of his work here. If you don't already have a collection of dark Disney Princess artwork somewhere on your computer, I suggest you get one. For some reason, (perhaps the recent push for stronger female role models for girls, or perhaps because all the girls who grew up singing along with these princesses are now adults and have different opinions about the messages they received as kids) there are amazing and controversial works of art featuring these damsels in distress popping up on the internet on an almost daily basis. Middle Eastern artist SaintHoax mixes pop culture with current politics in a very interesting way. Saint Hoax is pseudonym for a Middle Eastern Artist who describes his work as "POPlitical Infatuation". My favorite series so far is Polivillains, where he makes portraits of several famous politicians remained as Disney villains. You can see the whole collection in his webpage, but in the mean time, I will leave you with a few of the best, including Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro and North Korea's Kim Jong Un. The collection was prefaced with this poem: "Once upon a fiery night When leftists took an unholy right And rightists took a wicked left Agendas planned with utter deft Bloody eyes and a vicious grin A long road that is paved with sin They don't cast spells, nor do they breathe fire Characterized as meticulous liars Intentions hidden behind a veil There’s nothing fairy about that tale They turn the page to a darker chapter Where we live happy never after" What do you think? Ariel? Check! Elsa? Check! This guy is just brilliant! And the captions are so funny. I don't even know who he is, but he sure has one heck of an imagination and some serious finger painting skills. Also, he possibly has a lot of time on his hands. My favorite one has to be Ariel- the look on her face is the look of true love. The best example of fine art LOL #6billionhairclips |
